Movie Night: Serenity
This project, is a free project, that will be a movie watching party. We will be watching the movie titled: Serenity. It is a movie rated PG-13, so any student is allowed to watch it without parental permission. There is a process to this, it will be: 1. Write this up; 2. Put up posters; 3. Have the party! That’s it. It is a simple, but very fun project that potentially be a successful endeavor. The only outcome from this project will be that only of happiness of the students and the stress-freeness of them as well. It will cost nothing, and the entire process will only encompass the whole of three days.
There is no need for a movie night. It is just cool and a great way to chill, relax, and enjoy watching fights in space! But even though there is no need, there is always a want for the Robotics Team to watch Serenity and there is a problem: End of the Semester Stress. What better way to relieve that stress than to just relax and eat popcorn? For this project, I will need: a classroom, a projector, a projector screen, and a computer to play the movie on. I am going to bring a popcorn machine to the movie night because what is a movie night without popcorn? Just a movie. This is beneficial to the school because it will improve the mental health of our students by providing a stress free environment.
I expect there to be not very many people besides those who are already in culture club only because I am only giving one day’s notice for this. There will be no cost to anyone at all and it will last from 4:00 PM until 5:30 PM (or whenever Culture Club is over) I plan on providing the movie, the popcorn, and the extra people. Culture Club will provide the other refreshments and the materials needed for this project. There will not be anything long-term, and there will not be anything short-term either. It will be just a one-time deal. The unfortunate thing is that there might be a little bit of controversy between one of the leaders and myself in our opinion of Serenity. So this event might not happen at all. But I am just going to plan this out as if there is nothing that can stop it.
I am going to ask the leaders of Culture Club if they can be so awesome as to let me borrow their space. Then I am going to put up the posters. When that is complete, I will spread the word as quickly as possible, even though that the only people that I am going to get to listen to me will be the Robotics Team. There will not be any helpers from the leadership class for my project. This is not very innovative, but I do think it is fun and a simple way to get people together and overall improve the social health of our school.
I will know when my project is good and awesome when there are lots of people in attendance. But if not many people attend, then it is not the end of the world, my project can still be great if the people who DO show up have fun; because that is all that counts.
I am qualified for this project because I love movies, and I also have a cool popcorn machine that I will provide. I also bring this get together at no cost to anyone at all (except for my expenses in the price of popcorn kernels). That brings me to the budget of the project; which is nothing at all, because there is no money spent on this…at all. This will only take up three days: today to write this, tomorrow to put up posters, and Thursday will be the showing of the movie!
This project is worthwhile because it brings the students together for free! This project could end up being the start of a string of movie nights where people watch all kinds of movies! There could even be a Firefly (TV series) club, that is, if someone else is interested.
